Commissioned and premiered by the Cantate Chamber Singers (Gisèle Becker) in 2006, this three-part wedding oratorio tells a story: courtship, wedding, and wedding-night/shivaree. In celebrating the universality of marriage, texts are drawn from a wide variety of cultures and time periods.

Program notes:

Song to the Stars, for children’s choir and piano, sets my original text.  A lonely child leaves his unhappy home at night and talks to the stars.
          

The Indianapolis Children’s Choir, Henry Leck, conductor, premiered the work , and it has since been performed and recorded by many choirs.
